THE VACCINE: A LIBERATING FORCE

 

The vast part of the world population has faced the pandemic trying to save its life living in confinement.

The so-called "quarantine" has continued for months –in my case for nearly 11 of them—and I am still waiting to receive my first dose although that I am within the group considered of "high risk".

It seems that the difficulty has consisted in a deficient distribution and the non-existence of a plan well developed allowing a quick and efficient provision of the vaccines to their recipients.

Now that distribution won't depend any longer on each State but directly from the Federal government here in the U.S., and it is thought that this procedure is going to speed the process through which the vaccines will be given in considerable amounts.

In the meantime, the Johnson & Johnson company announced that within approximately two weeks it will be in conditions to deliver its vaccine.

We are talking here of billions of doses, with the advantage that this vaccine does not need special conditions of refrigeration and creates immunity in just one dose.

Therefore it could be ascertained that there are going to be enough vaccines not to remain without been vaccinated.

But the most important thing is not only de personal immunization provided by the vaccine but its effect on society.

When a sufficient amount of people had received the vaccine, that will allow a return to normal life that all of us want and miss.

And that return to normal life means a return to work, to the studies and the operation of the business of any kind allowing a strengthening of the economy in general.

The international flights will be increased. Tourism will be reactivated. Sports will see again stadiums full of people.

All of that will be a consequence of the vaccination.

The vaccine will be a liberating force in the concrete sense of the expression. It will break the chains of all that was imposed by the Coronavirus.

Life is going to be happy again on the planet.

That is why the ethic and socially responsible and conscious is to take the vaccine. Not only for the personal good but for the good of all.

LA VACUNA: FUERZA LIBERADORA

Una vasta parte de la población mundial ha enfrentado la pandemia procurando salvar su vida viviendo en confinamiento.

La llamada “cuarentena” se ha prolongado por meses –en mi caso por casi 11 de ellos— y aún estoy esperando recibir mi primera dosis, siendo que estoy dentro del grupo considerado de “alto riesgo”.

Al parecer el cuello de botella ha sido una pésima distribución, y la inexistencia de un plan bien desarrollado que permitiese el fluir rápido y eficiente de las vacunas elaboradas hacia sus destinatarios.

Ahora esa distribución no dependerá más de cada Estado sino que será hecha federalmente en EE.UU. y se piensa que con ello se acelerará el proceso por el cual las vacunas se apliquen en cantidades considerables.

Mientras tanto, la firma Johnson & Johnson ha anunciado que en cuestión de un par de semanas más estará en condiciones de entregar su vacuna.

Se habla de miles de millones de dosis, con la ventaja de que esta vacuna no demandará condiciones especiales de refrigeración para su mantenimiento, y se dará en una sola dosis.

Puede pues asegurarse que habrá vacunas en enorme cantidad y que no hay razón para que nadie quede sin vacunarse.

Pero lo más importante, no es sólo el efecto personal de inmunización de la vacuna, sino el efecto social.

Cuando suficiente cantidad de personas se haya vacunado, eso permitirá una vuelta a la vida normal que todos deseamos y extrañamos.

Y esa vuelta a la vida normal significa una vuelta al trabajo, al estudio, al funcionamiento de los comercios de toda índole, y por tanto a un  fortalecimiento de la economía en general.

Aumentarán los vuelos internacionales, el turismo volverá a reactivarse, el deporte verá nuevamente estadios llenos.

Todo como consecuencia de la vacunación.

La vacuna será una fuerza liberadora en el sentido concreto de la expresión, romperá las cadenas de todo tipo que nos impuso el Coronavirus.

La vida volverá a ser feliz sobre el planeta.

Por eso, la actitud ética y socialmente responsable y consciente, es darse la vacuna. No sólo por el bien personal, sino por el bien de todos.
