FEMALE FRIENDS: A REAL BLESSING

 

 

They are different from each other. The color of their skin, or their hair,their sizes, their lives. Some of them with family, some of them living alone.

Some of them are professionals in different disciplines, others writers, poets, painters, or simply housewives.

But all of them give me a portion of sensitivity, of sweetness, of accompaniment, that really makes me feel well.

I learn from them.

And when they share their situations, their problems, and challenges, I try to understand and to give them hope and some suggestions that I think could be useful to them.

Some of them sometimes have to go through difficult times, because of the way some people think and act within the society; when the mere fact of being a woman, creates to them troubles, doubts, and even fear.

It is hard to live in those circumstances, but they are not strange to many Latin American societies, regretfully.

That is also why I value them in a very special way.

Summing up, they are great companions in my life.

And I wouldn't be who I am, without them.

AMIGAS: UNA REAL BENDICIÓN

Ellas son diferentes entre sí. El color de su piel, o de su cabello, sus tamaños, sus vidas. Algunas de ellas con familia, otras viviendo solas.

Algunas de ellas son profesionales en diferentes disciplinas, otras, escritoras, poetas, pintoras, o simplemente amas de casa.

Pero todas ellas me dan una porción de sensibilidad, de dulzura, de acompañamiento, que realmente me hace sentir muy bien,

Aprendo de ellas.

Y cuando comparten sus situaciones, sus problemas, sus desafíos, trato de comprender y darles esperanza y algunas sugerencias que pienso pueden resultarles útiles.

Algunas de ellas a veces tienen que atravesar tiempos difíciles, por la manera en que algunas personas piensan y actúan en la sociedad; cuando el mero hecho de ser mujer les crea problemas, dudas y hasta temor.

Es difícil vivir en esas circunstancias, pero no son ajenas a muchas sociedades latinoamericanas, lamentablemente.

Es por eso que las valoro en una forma muy especial.

En resumen, son grandes compañeras en mi vida.

No sería quien soy, sin ellas.
