SOMETHING ABOUT MEDITATION

Friends, today I want to refer to a practice that some people perform as usual, but I imagine that most consider it a strange activity, or simply do not know or practice it: meditation.

What is meditation?

It is a simple practice that allows us for a moment to be absent from all reality, and to achieve an inner peace and an emotional balance to then continue with our daily life, but better equipped to face different circumstances.

It cannot be denied that we live in an increasingly complicated, violent, competitive society to the fullest, where hypocrisy, betrayal, conspiracy, and many other loathsome things can take us as subjects of them.

In the midst of all that, there are the loved ones for whom we must watch, there is love, there are recreational activities, the meeting with friends, etc.

Balancing and compensating all this is not easy, but there comes just the help of meditation, which contribute us to manage daily between these poles, with solvency, and above all with inner calm.

How can we practice that meditation?

Theoretically, at any time and place. Preferably, alone and in silence.
One way may be to close our eyes, and simply concentrate on our breathing rhythm, inhalation and exhalation. And take a few minutes for it.

Another, demands to prepare us.

If we have the opportunity to meditate with tranquility, we must turn off the cell phone, also leave the watch and everything that oppresses us like necklaces and jewelry; use a loose clothing and loosen the belt so that it do not press, and release any button or closure that holds us.Thus, our physique does not disturb us at all for our exercise.

We can sit on a chair, our hands resting on our legs, or on the armrest of the furniture we use, and our torso has to be straight, upright. We have to feel comfortable in that position.

With open eyes, it is advisable to be in a totally dark environment and concentrate on looking at a point of light, which can be a single and simple LED, or a small candle. The light has to be at a distance of one and a half or two yards from where we are located.

While in that situation, we can be helped by an appropriate music to inspire even better our concentration.

We will be fixing our eyes on that source of light, without thinking absolutely anything, simply concentrating on looking at that light. So we will be some minutes until with a deep breath we end our exercise.

I wish you success and good results.
